Calcium oxide is made by heating up calcium carbonate, carbon dioxide is a second product of that reaction. This calcium oxide when in water, it changes into calcium hydroxyde. Calcium hydroxide in its final use takes back carbon dioxide from the air, the water goes away and the hydroxyde changes back to calcium carbonate. And that's how we build houses.
These are things people learn in elementary school - yet I felt like I discovered the America again, when I realized'em during the exam.
